As an artist, if you want to break into a new market of work, you need to create a portfolio that fits into that market. Recently, I’ve been working on my children’s illustration portfolio. When it came down to creating these new illustrations an idea didn’t always instantaneously come into my mind. So for inspiration, I look over my past illustrations and sketches and see if there’s one I could “redo” in a new style.
Here are a couple of examples that I created inspired by my past sketches during my trip through Southeast Asia in 2008.
