Thank You For Your GoFundMe Donation!

When Idea approaches you, you can ignore its advances or give in. Over a year ago, while sketching, Idea came to me and I couldn’t ignore it. Idea has been patient with me, while I attempted a couple of times to give it the life it deserves. Struggling to see how I can make this happen, I decided to put together a GoFundMe campaign and ask for my dearest supporters to help me see our vision through and I couldn’t be more grateful and humbled by the contributions made by family, friends and supporters. The Adventures of Mila has now grown up from idea to progress.   So, Mila, Idea and I, would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has made a contribution to the campaign (those made private are kept private from this list):     Although I have not yet made the full monetary goal, we have raised enough to get the project started. I am currently building a team to finalize the story and website marketing. When the book is ready, we’ll go to print! The official relaunch is planned for Winter 2016 with the release of “Mila Takes Flight.”   **Please excuse any mistakes, I studied art not...
Given A Chance For A Purpose

Given A Chance For A Purpose

Like many children, I grew up with stuffed animals, and when I found out my mom donated one here and there I was always devastated. But there was one stuffed animal, a unicorn, that has stayed with me for 30 years. I keep her at my bedside and she wears my hospital birth bracelet around her neck. For me, it’s my daily reminder… I came to crossroads in my life a couple years ago, I wasn’t satisfied with my career path in real estate and I had an unsettling desire to follow my artistic passions. I started to recall a story my mom told me that gave me some perspective. It wasn’t just any story, it was my birth story.     My mom was eating dinner around 6pm on April 28, 1986 when she unexpectedly went into labor. Rushed to the nearest hospital, my mom gave birth to twins within 2 hours of her water breaking. My brother was born first, and I came second. We each had our own doctor that was brought in by helicopter for the procedure. Once born, we rode first class in our own ambulance to our main hospital. Our expected due date was July 3rd, we were born at 28 weeks (around 9 weeks early!). Weighing 3lbs 1 ounce (so tiny), I was unable to go home, so I spent 7 weeks hospitalized in an intensive care unit. My brother stayed in the hospital for 6. Finally the nurse asked my mom if she was willing to watch my monitor I was connected to, I could come home. My mom, being the caring person she is, agreed (I owe...
Meet For Coffee? 4 Steps To Finding Your Way

Meet For Coffee? 4 Steps To Finding Your Way

The coffee shop has turned into one of the best places to meet with others for gossip, business and yes, talking about your dreams. Recently I was asked a couple times to meet for coffee to talk about my passion in creating Phephe Rose. During one of my “meetings,” a young woman was expressing Her struggle with following what she loves and working in a job that doesn’t fulfill her desires. As I was talking to her, I started to recall my own journey to finding my way. So take a moment to grab a cup of joe, and read on. A few years ago I knew I was headed in the wrong career path and had to get out. But although I wanted to leave the job I had at the time, I had no idea what I wanted to do and what industry I wanted to dive into. I studied architecture, would I go back into design? I fell in love with fashion, would I try to get into the fashion industry? I’ve always been an artist, would I build my name as a working artist? Like anyone would do, I turned to google for a while and researched. I also took come classes at a local community college and started talking to different people in these industries. Then an opportunity came to me and I would take a 3 1/2 year journey to get to where I am today. In order to get to that point, I’d like to share my 4 Steps to help you find your way: Brainstorm all the possibilities you see yourself doing. Make a list of the areas you love, start researching...
Can We Inspire Each Other?

Can We Inspire Each Other?

As corny as it may sound, I am happy to see you are reading this today. It’s taken time for me to find my voice as not only a Creative and as a person.  While I hope to be an inspiration to you through this site and blog, know that you are an inspiration to me. I created this brand because I was inspired by everything I’ve experienced. Inspiration guides me on what to draw, what to write and what to create. Whether you are a Creative yourself or admire the arts, lets be an inspiration to each other and see where this creative journey takes us.     Featured Image: We Are All Connected - Inspired by the recent violence throughout the world. **Please excuse any mistakes, I studied art not...
